Consider this fact:
Breathing is essential for sleep! The truth is…
Snoring is a disease, and is something I also suffered from.
And since you’re here that means you also suffer from this nightmare.
The other day I received a fantastic product, the Zyppah RX mouthpiece, that claimed to be able to solve my snoring.
I’ve always been a snorer, it’s just something I had no control over.
Overtime I realized that I woke up everyday feeling even more tired than when I went to bed.
And that’s when my obsession to resolving my snoring came about and led me to anti-snoring devices.
I was never able to overcome my sleep problem or even knew that solutions existed until I tried this product! The result? That’s where this Zyppah RX review fits in. If you are tired of your snoring problems, then this article is for you.
What is Zyppah RX?
It is one of the few anti-snoring mouthpieces made in the United States of America that is designed using both MADs and TSDs technology. We will explain what both techniques are further own in this review. But better still, it is also designed to be custom fitted to the shape of your teeth.
By doing so, it should feel incredibly comfortable in your mouth. And will more than likely let you sleep right through the night without any problems. Now, I know what your thinking: How can putting something in your mouth feel comfortable throughout the night? I had the same thoughts when I heard about it.
But it is!
Yes, you’ll know that something is there, but since it is molded to fit your teeth, you’ll stop noticing it after a few uses. Not to mention, you may get rid of your snoring problem. So, In my opinion, the tradeoff is worth it!
About The Company
Dr. Jonathan Greenburg founded Zyppah after many years of experience in the dental field.
As an experienced Dentist, Dr. Greenburg has seen many patients suffering from sleep apnea and snoring problems, he realized that most if not all snoring devices on the market have failed to resolve the issue of snoring.
With that, he immediately created a patented product which addressed the cause: our tongue! Zyppah’s name came about from the word Happy and the letter Z which implies sleep but is spelled backward.
Zyppah RX Product Details
The neon-green color with accented black and sleek design is also another factor that made it stand out in my book as a unique product.
The design of this product is very different from other oral mouthpieces on the market.
I was at first shocked when I saw it as I had never seen a mandibular repositioning device with a strap on the back until this one. As it turns out, the strap on the back of the device also known as a Tongue Stabilizing Device is what makes this unique.
The Zyppah Rx uses two techniques to grant you a perfect snore-less sleep: Mandibular Repositioning and Tongue Stabilization.
What is Mandibular Repositioning Device?
Mandibular Repositioning is the technique that makes most oral appliances what they are.
Its fundamental purpose is to bring forward your mandibular which in essence is supposed to open up the airways in your throat and allow you to breathe correctly. During sleep, especially if you are a back sleeper your mandibular slightly rests on your throat which would reduce the air passages and cause you to snore.
The technique of mandibular repositioning corrects this. However, mandibular repositioning is not enough to correct our snoring problem.
Yes, it gets rid of the issue of the mandibular.
But still, there is the problem where our tongues fall to the back of our mouths and further blocks up the airways.
And that’s where Zyppah Rx came up with the genius Idea to use tongue stabilization.
What is a Tongue Stabilization Device (TSD)?
In the case of this device, the tongue stabilization merely is an elastic band that holds the tongue in place.
It stretches across the back of the mouthpiece and is tight enough to rest firmly on the back of your tongue and prevent it from moving.
The problem is that our tongue relaxes while we sleep.
And when this happens, it slides down to the back of our throat and puts pressure on our airways. Which is why most times we snore louder when we are sleeping on our backs, and less if we decide to side sleep.
Sounds Phenomenal, But Does It Work? Short answer: Yes it works. The techniques are sound, and the device is well made. So it does address the cause of snoring and should get rid of most of our snoring problems.
But naturally, nothing in the world is perfect. Let me explain what I mean. If you wear dentures, have a few critical tooth missing or have some other oral condition. Then naturally this might not be the best device for you.
The truth is…
Everyone will have a different fit, comfort levels, and teeth positioning so while I say it works fine for me. It may or may not work for you, or you might find it a bit uncomfortable.
User Review Of Zyppah RX
Believe it or not, I was a bit skeptical before testing this mouthpiece for a few reasons.
I’m a person that tends to shop a lot, so I have many different products in my basement that I’ve tried.
Even though I buy a lot of things, I’m still careful with how I spend my money.
I prefer to spend on sites that are trustworthy, and honestly, I wasn’t feeling secure on their website when I checked it out. So I jumped onto google and tried to see if I could find the Zyppah on Amazon.
And to my astonishment, there was nothing! The fact that I did not find it made me a bit wary of purchasing. I’m a diehard fan of reviews, and I recommend to everyone that they check the reviews of any product before they buy them.
And what better place than Amazon to find real user feedback? But Zyppah Rx just was nowhere to be found on Amazon. However, I still got it, which brings us to this section of the review; testing the product.
I’ve had the mouthpiece for about three weeks now, and my wife says that I haven’t snored the same since. To use the product you have to go through the fitting process.
The comfort and effectiveness of the product will entirely depend on how well you go through the fitting process. If done well, it should feel pretty good.
The elastic band strap on the back of the zyppah didn’t feel bad in any way. It was a bit uncanny at first but not uncomfortable enough to make you hate the product.
As I mentioned earlier, my wife didn’t have any issues with my sleeping after I used this product. So it does work. I didn’t have significant problems with rubbing against my gums or causing soreness after I wake up. Yes, in the first few days my mouth was slightly sore, but that went away after a few days of use.
What is The Custom-Fitting Process?
This process is relatively simple, you take a pot of boiling water and pour it into a container. Then take the Zyppah Rx and place it in the water and leave it there for about 30 seconds. However, you have to be careful to not leave it for too long, or it might deform.
There is also the issue where it might stick to the walls of the container. As such, I’d recommend using a vegetable grabber to hold the product in place under the water. After you’ve done the 30-second dip, you place the device in your mouth.
This part is essential; the product creator recommends that you push the mandibular forward a bit before biting down. After you’ve clamped down, hold the device in place for about 15 to 20 seconds. After that, you can then take it out and place it in cold water and its ready to use.
I followed the zyppah instructions on their website to the T. I’ll share precisely how I did it for maximum comfort.
Be warned; it will take some getting used to having in your mouth. Everyone is different, and even though I was pretty comfortable with it after just a few days, it might not be the same for you.
According to their website, most people take up to a few weeks for the product to be completely comfortable.
When fitting the product the items to have on hand are a mirror, paper towels, a timer, one container with warm water, one container with cold water and lastly any utensil to hold the product in the middle of the warm water.
- The first thing to do is heat the warm water, then place the product in the warm water.
- Let it stay submerged for 30 seconds.
- Grab the utensil to take the product from the warm water ensuring that you hold the
- product by the elastic at the back of the zyppah
- Place the product in your mouth
- Bring your jaw forward slightly to match the bottom section of the mouthpiece
- Bite firmly and hold for 15 Seconds
- Remove the mouthpiece from your and place it in cold water for 1 minute.
That’s it. If you follow these simple steps on how to use the Zyppah Rx, you should get a perfectly fitted anti-snoring mouthpiece.
How Much Does it Cost?
The price point of the product is just about mid-range. It was first priced at 125.85. That prices might vary but has since been on sale for a discounted price of 99.95. The price includes shipping and handling to locations in the United States. If you plan to ship the product to an overseas address, the cost will incur a charge of $18.95.
So What’s the Verdict? Is it worth all the money?
Well, honestly for what it does it is worth it. But other amazing products can give you the same results at maybe half the price. Products which I have reviewed such as the VitalSleep is a much cheaper alternative.
And honestly, Zyppah is not my favorite anti-snoring device. Other experts on BodHealthiness and I have examined quite a number of these products which you can find here, and you can check each review and see which suits you best.
They also include a Satisfaction guarantee with this mouthpiece so you can feel assured that it is at least worth a shot. It worked for a couple of other people and me so it might work for you as well.

Zyppah Help To Treat Sleep Apnea
The primary purpose of the Zyppah RX is to eliminate snoring. Eliminating Snoring, although it is a symptom of sleep apnea will not rid you of the problem entirely. Experts recommend that you be physically examined by a trained professional to ascertain the cause of your sleep apnea. And find out what to do to get rid of it altogether.
Where Do You Go From Here?
I advise that you read a few more reviews that we have done and see which one of the products that we have used will be best for you. Snoring is a hassle, but it doesn’t have to be, as with the increase in technology, tools have been created to combat the issue. We hope to see you in the next review.
Conclusion
This Zyppah Rx is a decent anti-snoring mouthpiece and honestly a good option to start with. The techniques used to create the product are genuinely flawless and fabulous in theory. But sadly it’s not perfect.
There are many flaws with the zyppah, and many customers have been complaining about the product. However, it did address one critical question I am sure you are asking.
However, we also want to end by saying that not every product is for everyone. And there are many other products available on the market that can even efficiently stop your snoring dilemma. Such as the vital sleep which we have reviewed in another post. There are also other solutions which you can find the details to on this page.
